This site is produced by educators, academics and policy makers from around Australia. We warmly welcome contributions, suggestions and requests for articles.

Email us at if you are interested in contributing.

Each month, we publish articles in each of the different areas of the site.

The most important goal of the site is to provide a forum to share the fantastic work being done by educators around the country, in our classroom section. Our aim is to share stories from public, Catholic and independent sectors; primary and secondary levels; large and small schools; old and new.

If you are involved in a project that you think members would benefit from hearing about, we'd love to know more. We invite reports (ideally with accompanying photographs) on activities in schools - or outside, usually up to 400 words.

The opinion section showcases short articles by progressive thought leaders in the Australian education community. Our aim is to present new thinking, research and points of view - always though provoking, sometimes challenging.

We welcome suggestions as to topics you would like to see covered, or experts whose opinion you would like to hear. We also accept expressions of interest from established authors who wish to write on a particular topic.

To help practitioners keep abreast of new publications and releases, we provide succinct reviews, written with an educational audience in mind. The section covers books, film, and online resources.

We invite reviews of up to 250 words on any recently released material.

Each month we share information on upcoming events which relate to more progressive approaches to education - either within the education community or more broadly. We also publish commentary from members who have attended events, providing insight and learnings.

We welcome suggestions of events to cover, and also submissions of up to 250 words on an event you have attended.

The site is managed by members of the Schoolhouse Centre for Progressive Education.

If you would like to help us source and compile articles, we also welcome assistance with curating and editing our monthly newsletter.

All about how you can write reviews, or send in examples of your practice - or suggest who you might like to hear opinion from.
